Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Courses
Many of our postgraduate diplomas and Master's degrees that will be of direct interest to practitioners are taught by way of four three day block sessions. Each block meets the annual CPD requirement of 16 hours as currently set by the SRA. Thus, you could take a module over a 3 day block, covering issues such as Mental Capacity, Safeguarding and Carers, Looked-After Children or Core Principles of Child Care Law and Practice, fulfil your CPD requirements and be on your way to a University postgraduate award.
A Postgraduate Diploma or Masters level degree can be completed over up to 5 years. For the first four years, you could complete a single module that would meet your CPD obligations. At the end of four years and after the successful completion of four modules you could be awarded a Postgraduate Diploma. If you wanted to convert your diploma to an MA or LLM, then you will have the option to complete a dissertation of 15,000-20,000 words, supervised by a member of academic staff.
For more information about the possibility of combining CPD obligations with undertaking a Masters degree please contact the CPD Course Administrator, School of Law, Recru it networ, Keele, Staffordshire, , Tel: 01782 733229, Fax: 01782 733228, E-mail: [email protected].
