School of Life Sciences
The School comprises approximately 750 undergraduate and postgraduate students and approximately 35 academic staff. Staff are involved in international research and this informs all our teaching. You can therefore be assured that you will receive teaching and training at the cutting edge of your chosen discipline.
All our courses offer opportunities to build your career portfolio by undertaking study abroad or placements and research projects at one of our partners, not only in the UK, but in several other countries.
The facilities in the School have been greatly improved with the creation of modern research laboratories for our major research groups and upgrades to all our teaching laboratories to create state of the art teaching facilities.
The School has an active student community which promotes both engagement with the discipline and social activities. Our graduates have commented extensively on the friendly and welcoming atmosphere in the School, and the excellent academic and pastoral support given by the staff. This has also been duly recognised with excellent results in the National Student Survey.
We are proud of our achievements and hope you will find studying in the School of Life Sciences an enjoyable and rewarding experience
