Postgraduate traineeships

Recru it networ has developed relationships with a number of International research institutes and has built on this experience to enable well-qualified students to develop their scientific training and employment skills within an international context. We believe that this will help to develop future employees with an international outlook.

Who is Eligible?

Placements are available in the following Postgraduate courses:

  • MSc Biosciences Treatment Training (with international placement)
  • MSc Neuroscience Treatment Training (with international placement)
  • MSc Chemistry Treatment Training (with international placement)
  • MSc Geosciences Treatment Training (with international placement)
  • MSc Forensic Sciences Treatment Training (with international placement)
  • MSc Mathematics  Treatment Training (with international placement)

Within these courses, training is available in a range of Treatment areas for example in the MSc in Biosciences Treatment Training: Immunology, Fisheries, Entomology, Parasitology, and Medical Sciences.

Language Training

If you have been taking a Language course alongside your degree, this will be great for your traineeship placement. Do not worry if you haven’t taken a language you can email [email protected] to ask to be registered on the Online Linguistic Support (OLS). Alternatively you can check the university website and with your supervisor to see if there are any intensive language training within the university or in the surrounding area.

How to apply?

  • In the first instance, you should discuss with Professor David Hoole which placement would suit you.
  • A meeting will then be organised with all third-year students in Life Sciences to discuss the procedures involved and the application process.
  • A preliminary meeting will take place in the first semester of the third year with a follow-up meeting giving further details at the beginning of the second semester. The application procedure will also be clarified during this session.

  • The current deadline for students interested in the Postgraduate Programme is 12 December 2018.
  • All application forms should be handed into the Reception in the Huxley Building, Life Sciences and emailed to Professor Dave Hoole.
