Erasmus+ staff training mobility
Through the Staff Training Mobility scheme, Erasmus+ offers professional development opportunities for academic and professional services staff to improve the skills required for their current job by participating in training in another country in Europe.
While participating in the Erasmus+ programme, your training may take the form of:
- A short secondment period
- Attendance at workshops, courses or a a staff training week.
Your training programming could be built around:
- The transfer of knowledge and good practice
- Learning from shared experience
- The acquiring of new practical skills
- The discovery of new ideas for teaching and learning
As well as benefiting the individual’s professional development, Erasmus+ Staff Mobility is intended to contribute to the wider internationalisation strategies of the university.
Staff will be asked to complete an ‘Expression of Interest’ form which should be handed to your Line Manager and Deputy/ Director of Service for their comments.
The final application should be received by the Global Education Team.

Erasmus+ covers 32 countries in Europe outside the UK: Belgium, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Denmark, Germany, Estonia, Ireland, Greece, Spain, France, Croatia, Italy, Cyprus, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Hungary, Malta, Netherlands, Austria, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovenia, Slovakia, Finland, Sweden, Macedonia, Liechtenstein, Iceland, Norway and Turkey. If you wish to go on mobility to a new partner, please provide the name of the Erasmus office at that institution to the Global Education team.
Staff training participants are encouraged to engage in mobility where a partnership agreement is already in place, or where a Staff Training Week has been organized.
Length of mobility period is between 2 days to 2 weeks (excluding travel time).
The Erasmus+ European Working Party will meet to review and approve applications. Successful candidates will be notified after this meeting and requested to indicate acceptance of their mobility within 2 weeks.
Please note that staff are responsible for arranging their own travel and insurance.
Please complete the university Risk Assessment form at least five full working days prior to departure.
